Grade 8
So, It's August...summer's almost over. Time goes by too fast! School starts on September, 4. Not only is school starting, but so is my new journey as an 8 grader. I can't believe it was two years ago when I joined DWS. I have accomplished and learned so much. Do I seem older? Not really. Do I seem smarter? Not necessarily, still can't spell necessarily without spell check. ha ha. Yet, I feel different. I am older, smarter. Somehow it happens so slightly, so gradually, it's barely noticeable. I guess that's why it seems so amazing that I'm here. I knew it would happen. I was probably looking forward to it in grade 6...but I'm not sure what I was expecting. We'll be oldest in the school. That seems pretty cool, but there are so many responsibilities that come with it - Perilous path, fundraising, grade 8 projects, exams, etc. It will be a lot to handle, but we'll have fun along the way. Besides, the fundraising goes towards our grade 8 trip which will be kind of a reward for our hard work, and one last trip as a class. Then at the end, the class of 2013 graduation, I want to look back and remember that year as being a great learning experience, and remember my class, and those two wonderful years before. But for right now, I'm just going to worry about the beginning, the start...of grade 8.
Aiming for GR8ness!

Hey! I know I haven't been blogging like at all for a really long time. ha ha. So here is another quick update..........
I take tap at River City Dance Academy, I'm a Girl Scout in troop 1469, and I'm in 7th grade at Davis Waldorf School.
So at school we just got out of our Poetry block and we put on a play "Star Cross'd" using parts of Shakespeare's plays and the rest written by the one and only, Dr. Tan, my teacher/dad. It was amazing. I played the amazing, Anne Hathaway. No, not the actor, she is Shakespeare's "lovely" wife. It's at the end of our spring break and we are about to go into our explorers block. It should be pretty cool, my teacher always seems to make learning some what fun. ;)
Sincerely, J

Planting
A few weeks ago, we decided to redo our whole garden for Spring. We all figured out what we were going to plant (including what our neighbor or we are going to plant), where the beds are going to be, and if we are going to plant the by seed, by plant, or by root.
We pulled out everything and chopped them up to put into our compost pile. Ricky, Daddy, and I each took turns roto-tilling the garden plots. I transpanted strawberries (by plant),Wilson planted crenshaw (by seed), and Mommy planted lemon cucumbers (by seed). Here is a song that we learned:
I dig dig dig
And plant some seeds
I rake rake rake
And pull some weeds
I wait and watch
And soon I know
My garden sprouts
And starts to grow
